Traditions at Northgate

Our building has served students in many ways since it was built in 1955 — as a junior high school, an elementary school, for staff development, for general administration, and now as our school.

When Northgate re-opened as a middle school in 1999 (with the same mascot it first had in 1957), it was once again GATOR territory. Our new building came with many benefits — a new library, office, and music wing, along with an exciting "young" color scheme. But there was one thing missing, something that no school has at the very start: tradition.

Tradition must be built through choices, trial-and-error and "goodness-of-fit." A long list of other important things have to be done before traditions are complete, and you are here just in time to help. We invite you to make this the year to strengthen Northgate traditions or to invent ways of being a Gator that no one has thought of yet.

If what you do in your time here is excellent, there is every chance that it will continue on as Northgate TRADITION.
